Katie Conlon won the 3000 meter steeplechase at the NAIA National Championships in Marion, Ind., Saturday with a time of 10:27.90, breaking her own school record and besting the two-time defending national champ by nearly 11 seconds.
Conlon, a junior from Jamestown, is the fifth women’s national champion in Jamestown College history, joining Teresa Lloyd (800 and 1500 meters, 1986), Shannon Doty (marathon, 1995), and Erin Boziel (indoor 600, 1997).
Sarah Skipper, a senior from Lewistown, Mont., also brought home All-American honors by placing sixth in the heptathlon. The Jimmie men’s and women’s teams each took second place at the DAC meet and sent a total of 14 athletes to the national meet.
