‘Macbeth’ opens tonight at Jamestown College

William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” is the next production from Jamestown College Theatre, running tonight, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. nightly in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium.

The Jamestown College Friends of the Fine Arts Society is hosting an Opening Night Reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the Reiland Fine Arts Center Lobby. All playgoers are welcome.

After leading a victorious battle, the generals Macbeth and Banquo happen upon a trio of witches who prophesy that Macbeth will become king and Banquo’s descendants will be king. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth plot together to fulfill the prophecy for themselves with one murder after another.  With their treacherous means of gaining and retaining power, the Macbeths are punished by their tormented consciences.

Tickets are $7 and can be reserved through the Box Office. Call (701) 252-3467 ext. 2435 or send e-mail to tickets@jc.edu. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The season concludes April 28 with “An Evening of One Acts” directed by Jamestown College students.
