Jamestown College senior nursing students who recently returned from Chogoria, Kenya, will share photos and stories from their trip at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23 in Voorhees Chapel. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Chogoria is a small village at the base of Mt. Kenya, about 140 miles northeast of Nairobi, and Chogoria Hospital is a 300-bed facility serving more than 500,000 people. The students worked in the general hospital, in the pediatric and maternity wards, and in outlying villages. This was the fourth delegation traveling to Chogoria from the Jamestown College Department of Nursing since 2007. The group was in Kenya from Feb. 7 until March 2.
The Chogoria nursing opportunity is part of the Jamestown College Journey to Success, which encourages students to look inward to examine their interests and goals; look outward to use their strengths for service; look beyond to learn about other people and cultures; and look forward as they prepare for careers or further study.
